Historische Dörfer
Am Rande der Stadt Berlin entlang der früheren Handelsstraßen siedelten sich mehrere Dörfer an. So auch die Dörfer Marzahn, Biesdorf, Hellersdorf, Kaulsdorf und Mahlsdorf. Gebaut wurden diese im typischen märkischen Stil mit Dorfanger. Im Zuge von umfangreichen Baumaßnahmen verschmolzen gewissermaßen die Dörfer mit der Stadt.

Historische Gutsanlagen
Versteckte Kleinode sind die zum Teil sehr gut erhaltenen, historischen Gutsanlagen. Heute werden sie überwiegend als Wohn-, Gewerbestandort oder als Museum genutzt. Am bekanntesten ist das Gutshaus Mahlsdorf, welches heute das Gründerzeitmuseum beherbergt. Weitere Gutsanlagen: Gutshaus Kaulsdorf, Gut Hellersdorf und Gut Biesdorf.
